Is there any flight simulator that does have Google Earth map as terrain?

Q. Is any flight simulator out there that has Google Earth maps as terrain (streaming) or allows it through mods or plug-ins?

PS: Yes, i know that GE does have a "flight simulator" but i mean more serious ones like MS FS or x-plane.

A. As Google Earth has its own flight simulator, it will not supply its maps to an existing flight simulator franchise such as Microsoft, at least its very doubtful. There are certain companies using the flight simulator add-on within Google earth to provide a flight simulator feel, such as http://www.ge-flightsimulator.com/

How does google earth/maps get pictures of so many places on street level?
Q. I like checking out google earth and maps from time to time and find it interesting, but I wonder how do they get so many pictures of so many places on street level etc?

A. They have a car with cameras mounted on top that produce images that when spliced together form 360 degree views of the street or highway they are driving on. They have been doing this for a couple years now. I believe the project is incomplete at this time. I agree it's very interesting, you can visit many cities and towns in many parts of the country and some outlying areas too. It's also helpful when planning a trip even just across town, to know where to turn and exit, to see and recognize physical landmarks, etc.

Why has Google Earth and Maps reverted to much older images than were previously available?
Q. Up until recently, the images used by Google earth and maps were between 12 and 18 months old. However recently I've noticed that the maps have aged significantly. For example, my house that was built in 2000 now shows an empty field although the road overlay showing the street is still there.

A. Google has to use satelite photos from outside sources. If Google's license to use that image ran out, they may have to use older images they have on file. Also, GE uses higher resolution images over more recent images. If one area has high res, they will use it, regardless of the date. You're not alone, however, many people (including me) have old images which don't show half the things they should.
