A. Google has people finders for major natural disasters, like the recent Japan earthquake one found at http://japan.person-finder.appspot.com/?lang=en . Even so, Google does not have an official people finder service... yet. A list of all Google services can be found at http://www.google.com/intl/en/options , and as you can see, there is no people finder.
BUT, there are some cool people-finding features built into the Google Web Search. I think #2B is the best of the tips below.

Here are some tips to Google-ing people:

1. Take the personâs full name, enter into a google search box - i.e âMissing L. Personsâ - (donât forget to use quotation marks around the personâs name, otherwise non-relevant results may be generated). If the search results donât yield any promising hits, re-run the search without using the middle initial. This works well for relatively uncommon last names. For finding people with very common names, using a middle initial is rather essential and will give best results.

Where can i rent a valve locator near San Francisco?
Q. Hi there,
We are trying to find some water valves on our sports field. WE have a few puddles on the field, but can't seem to visually find the leaking valve boxes to get those fixed. A contractor suggested that we get a valve locator, however, those run around $600 which is a little outside of our budget. Does anyone know of any place we can rent one near San Francisco? Or have any other suggestions?

A. Call for utility locates because you are digging out there. Meet the locator guy out there to show him a spot where you will be digging a hole. Ask him if he will also locate your water line for an extra $50. Most of them are contractors and will do it for cash. I assume its the irrigation system so if you have a wire he can hook to, it will go fast for him and he wont complain. You will have to follow his marks and find the valves your looking for because he wont chances are be able to locate just the valve but the whole run. You can also use witching sticks if all else fails. Look it up on google. I use 2 of the flag wires they put in and tear the flags off. Place bends in for your fingers and hold about 8 inches apart and walk the line they will cross when you pass over it.
