What some cool ideas to promote a small business locally?

Q. How can you attract attention without spending a lot of money? I've already done Google Local.

A. I would suggest you to get your Google local listing to the top, this alone will fetch you very good results.....For the same you should do the following..

1) Add Full address, Phone Number to your website.
2) Use the same address and register your business to all the Internet Yellow pages.
3) Register yourself to Industry specific Directories and yellow pages
4) Get reviews for your business from your customers listed on all sites and also on your Google pages

Is This A Good Business Model For Providing Google Ranking Services?

Q. 1. Google+ Local is a fairly new method to rank a local business on the first page of Google for targeted keywords.

2. I have ranked multiple businesses on the first page of Google using this method, and am considering offering my services with no payment up front.

3. I would enter into a contract with a business and secure a payment method. Payment would only be due AFTER I rank them on the first page of Google for target keywords.

Do you think that this can be a successful business model as it completely eliminates any risk?

Is there a software that can search key words within documents in the hardisk?

Q. I have stored many word doc in hardisk. Sometimes it's very hard to find the doc I need. So, is there a software that can search key words within documents(like .doc or .pdf) in the hardisk?

Can google local search do this?

A. There are a few pieces of software that can do this. Google Desktop Search is one of them. In my experience it works quite well and can index the contents of many different types of files.
