How we can find a small business subsidies for our very young company?

Q. Me, and my partner heard from somewhere that we can apply for free financial subsidies who help to newly established small business. We checked in Google, but the information over there is so randomized. We are a new Employment Agency, based in Brooklyn NY and we just opened our office.
We guess that the help may be Government or Private (financial subsidies/sponsorship) and that's why we was wondering how we can find the right person or source?
Thank you for your time and patience!

A. There are no grants for a for profit business unless you are opening a daycare. If you need money, you will need to apply for a loan. No lender will talk to you unless you provide them with a valid business plan. Go to http://www.sba.gov , http://www.score.org or http://www.bplan.com for sample business plans and instructions on how to write a business plan.

Then, go to http://www.score.org/ and in the upper left hand corner, enter your zip code. On the next screen, you will get information on the nearest SCORE chapter. Call them and arrange for a free meeting with a SCORE counselor to review your business plan and discuss various loan options available to you.

SCORE is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

SCORE has 389 chapters in locations throughout the United States and its territories, with 10,500 volunteers nationwide. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate time and expertise as business counselors.

The most effective way to advertise my local small business on a low budget?
Q. Hi. I just opened a Japanese restaurant in San Francisco. As a small local business on a low budget, what is a most effective way to advertise my business? I have done some research in Google, but I haven't found much useful tips. Any small business owners out there could provide me some suggestions? Really appreciated.

A. Well, advertising campaigns in major media outlets are too expensive for small local business. You can try cable network, such as Travel Channel, Food Network, Discover etc..You can also try local Asian TV network or news paper (like KTSF or Singtao Daily), spend $2k-$3k a month for few month, and you might get pretty good result. Good Luck!
