When writing about controversial television advertising, how do start to brainstorm?

Q. I have to write a persuasive essay on controversial television advertising. I have read some of the ideas and they all great; however, I am not good at brainstorming. I'm either overthinking or underthinking my ideas. Can some please tell me how I can get started without my mind going blank? And how do you narrow down your ideas?

A. Individual Brainstorming

When you brainstorm on your own you will tend to produce a wider range of ideas than with group brainstorming - you do not have to worry about other people's egos or opinions, and can therefore be more freely creative. You may not, however, develop ideas as effectively as you do not have the experience of a group to help you.

Ust the tool call mind map. Find it on google

When Brainstorming on your own, it can be helpful to use Mind Maps to arrange and develop ideas.

Group Brainstorming ideas in more depth than individual brainstorming.

What is best way to find television news story from 1992?
Q. Story appeared on local television news, aired in Maryville, TN, between August and December, 1992. The subject concerned a woman who was initially denied benefits by her employer, but was awarded those benefits more than ten years later.

A. There are two ways to go about it...

First (and best way) - if you can remember what station the news story aired on, call the station and ask if you can get a transcript of the show or buy a DVD...
Sometimes They don't go back that far so you might be out of luck...

Second, Google some phrases that appear in an article about the person like "woman benefits employer 10 years late" and see what comes up... occasionally a learning institution will hold on to a broadcast in their library... I found a TV special about a really obscure artist that way.

Good Luck but don't get your hopes up.

How to create a television show at your highschool?
Q. Our school newspaper has split up into commitiees and I was assigned to come up with a way to get a news show started at our highschool? I dont really know where to start and google isnt being very helpful. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on how I should attempt to form this?

A. Avoid television as a concept and do a video blog. Television's a dying medium anyway, and expensive to set up even as closed circuit. Video blogging is something any idiot with a handheld video recorder or cell phone can do.
