How can i earn through google ads on an informative website?
Q. How much can i earn in average per month, through Google Ads on A informative website about mobile revies, news, sms's and prices?

A. You need to generate traffic to your site to begin with... and provide quality, relative information on your topic...

I have a website setup that has a topic of local and world news around Pittsburgh PA, weather, sports, etc... and I generate around $90/month off of that alone... my site gets only 50k visitors, but around 90% of the traffic are from bookmarks and it being set to users homepages... My click thrus are about 10% of traffic, and the traffic to the links is of extremely high quality, so my eCPM on google is very high... I just need a few thousand more people to get on and it should be good!

It just depends on the quality of your content, but topic specific sites usually become search engine friendly, and become simple answer sites... so basically your website will get a high bounce rate (users reading an article, and leaving the site without clicking anything else on the site)...

If you have traffic, and you begin getting somewhat of a following, the more money you will make... growth and updates are required to grow your revenue...

Good luck...

How much money would I make from google ads?
Q. If i put google ads on my site and it gets 100k views/month mow much money would I make?
Also are google ads the best thing to go with? What other ad companies are there?

A. Just based on one pay per visitor ad progran, you might ear 1/2 cent per U.S. visitor ($500/mo), adsense earning vary depending on your content and what ads they judge to best match it.

There are better ad networks, I don't recall the names right now, though as I recall some require 500,0000 min a month.

Alternatives affiliate or PA links where you have to be involved in a bit of pre-sale, or the banner ad broker BuySellAds.com I believe the site takes a 10% commission off the rates quoted, there seem to be a lot of more obscure info & forum sites.

Where would be some decent neighborhoods in Atlanta?

Q. I'm considering moving to Atlanta after highschool for school and I just want to know of some good neighborhoods for people between the ages of 18-21. I'm planning on staying with a couple roommates so I'm looking for a price range between $500 and $600. additionally, what is the weather like in Atlanta year round and hows the nightlife. Lastly, whats it like living there compared to cities like LA and Miami for those who been there?

-thanks in advance
John R, I'm planning on going to SAE Institute, its located in downtown Atlanta on 215 Peachtree St.

A. Good neighborhoods in Atlanta:

Warning: I use stereotypes in these notes, these are just my opinions based on living in Atlanta for 10 years. Exceptions always apply and even though I classify folks in stereotypes, in every neighborhood I mention, the people are friendly and welcoming ( even the crack heads). Enjoy and good luck.

1) Virginia Highlands
Good if you like trendy stuff, a cross between yuppies and hippies and a bit of everything in between. College bars, neat hide-away type restaurants. Cute bungalows, pre-war apartments and mission style homes on tree lined streets. Near Emory University. A walking neighborhood (walk to coffee, bars, eats, etc.) Google search Virginia Highlands , map

2) Vinings
Affordable housing, yet still inside the perimeter (the highway that literally circles Atlanta is 285 and is known as the Per miter, anything inside the Per miter is Atlanta, anything outside the Per miter, is not)
Within driving distance to most. Spread out, not very walkable in the 600 range, if that number still exists for rent.

3) Smryna
Fits your budget. Still cool and within driving distance to all Atlanta has to offer. Basically Atlanta.
Neighborhood and apartments in affordable place. Driving place.

4) Candler Park
Trendy, hipster, artsy, sometimes gay, or young hip families. Neat mom and pop eateries. Walkable neighborhood but smaller then V. Highlands above.

5) Midtown
A mix of new high rises and old apartments. A mix of people - urban, section 8, young professionals, super stars, gay gay gay, crack heads, college students, gays, straights, families and old school hookers that might be guys. Kind of spendy, but affordable pockets still exist. Nightlife within walking distance from your home makes this nice. A real city expereince. Basically safe - of course - dont be stupid. Crack head warning especially 3am - 8am Peachtree Street between Ponce De Leon to say 14th street is very midtown. Very walkable.

6) Little Five Points
I picture someone that likes Pot and wants to make a living while smoking pot forever living here. Hippies, dread locks, artsy, cool, skaters, and what looks like some run-aways live here.

7) Buckhead
Has changed... it used to, and to some extend i suppose still is, the rich place in Atlanta... but it might be old rich. Buckhead used to be where all the clubs and nightlife was, but a few shootings, and a few well to do neighborhood associations imposed rules that hacked off nightclub owners, so the clubs have moved on... to midtown and other hideaways in Atlanta. New high rises are everywhere and the good shopping and upscale eats still remain.

Atlanta to Miami
Atlanta seems less flashy. While it feels like everyone has a nice car here and dresses well, we have a lot of 7s in terms of women and a lot of 7s in terms of men. No ocean. Hot Hot hot in summer, fry an egg on the street at 2am hot. Fall and Spring are great and make great outdoor dining and nightlife, a highlight here... very spread out city. A car is recommended.

Other cheaper neighborhoods outside of Atlanta that are decent

1) Kennesaw, GA
2) Decatur, GA

What are you looking for in terms of lifestyle could help...

Good luck.

Other sources:
Promove - Free apartment finder source, very helpful people if talk to and tell what you are looking for, what dont want

South of Martin Luther King Blvd. (and close by it) is basically forbidden territory - not recommended.

Atlanta is odd in that neighborhoods do not have big borders. Literally crack houses and projects are blocks from the old rich homes in Druid Hills... very strange.

Living near Georgia Tech or Emory Unversity may be affordable and fun. See craigslist.

Cheap and good eats:
1) Eats on ponce de leon off of peachtree street in midtown
2) Little Azio on Peachtree Street, near i think 6th in midtown
3) Figo in Virginia Highlands
4) Loca Luna (tacos are good price, sangria tastes good, music at night peachtree street and i think 5th)
5) The vortex five points (hamburgers)
6) OK Cafe (not as cheap, but good food - at west paces ferry road and cobb parkway. or take w. paces ferry road off of interstate 75 ....

How does google earth work?
Q. Does anyone know how are you able to see the closest intersection when you google an address. Is it all done by satellite? Or are there thousands of people riding around taking pictures of intersections? (Just kidding of course). I just can't imagine that satellites pictures are that advanced - or maybe I don't want to know. Thanks

A. Streetview?

Google has cars that drive around taking pictures. Seriously.

Wikipedia says:
"Google Street View displays photos taken from a fleet of Chevrolet Cobalts in North America, Opel Astras in continental Europe, Holden Astras in Australia and New Zealand, Vauxhall Astras in the United Kingdom and Toyota Prius cars in Japan. Pedestrian areas, narrow streets and park alleys that cannot be accessed by car are not always covered. However, sometimes Google Bikes are used. On each of these cars (and bikes) 9 directional cameras for the 360° views, GPS units for positioning, Laser Range Finders for the measuring of buildings and 3G/Wi-Fi aerials for whereabouts on 3G and Wi-Fi hotspots are all mounted."

What is the fastest way to get from lincoln park chicago to Cog hill country club & golf using public transpor?

Q. i would like to know whats the fastest way to get to cog hill country club from lincoln park chicago at 6am using public transport. please help. please be creative, I already tried google directions.

A. I do not think there is any public transportation (other than a cab) that would get you to Cog Hill that early in the morning.

Even if there were public transport, it would take at least 2 hours to get there because you would need to transfer a lot of times.

One other obvious issue: PHONE them and ask them if there is a Pace bus that gets there that early in the morning. [I doubt it.]

Can someone tell me the best driving routes from Long Island to Niagara falls?
Q. The google directions are not the clearest. Too many merge here, merge there...

A. BUY a NEW YORK state MAP. READ IT.

Seriously, the New York State Thruway , or I- 90, is the best route ( of course you PAY for the use of it ) and after getting on I 95, in the NYC area, you simply follow it, to the west, to get to Niagara Falls. STAY on it, and follow the signs to the falls. Get over the Hudson River, using either a bridge or a tunnel, (your choice ) to I 95 North. .

I used to drive from Toronto to Islip, Long Island, every week, carrying freight in my one ton Ford van ( air craft engine parts ) and I can drive that route in my sleep.

By the way, merging is no big deal, IF you read the overhead SIGNS.

Jim B

Toronto.

How much will I pay in tolls from Tampa, FL to Middletown, NY 10940?
Q. I used the google directions. There is partial toll road merging on to I-895N, I95N Passing through DE entering NJ, Exit 7 merging onto I-46N toward Plymouth Meeting, and exit 56 merging onto US-22E toward State Hwy 309/Allentown? What is the total of these tolls? Thanks.

A. Take I-4 west to I-95 north to Maryland and get on I-695 north. Take 695 north to I-83 north. Take I-83 north into Pennsylvania where you'll merge onto I-81 north. Near Scranton take I-84 east to Middletown. No tolls this way.

Otherwise, your directions don't make much sense. And I drive throughout eastern PA, Delaware, NJ, and Maryland all the time. The toll on I-895 is $2, the toll on the I-95 at the DE/MD line is $5. No tolls crossing into NJ (only leaving NJ). And the toll on the NJ Turnpike is based on how far you go.

How do you move Yahoo Contact to Google Gmail?
Q. I'm sick and tired of the Yahoo site. After two weeks of being so slow as to be near useless I'm moving everything I can to Google Gmail and starting over. Not that Google is any easier to use, it's NOT, but it WORKS, and works fast.
Question; anyone know how to move my Yahoo address book (and files) from Yahoo to Google. Thanks for any and all help.

A. God I hope you get a good answer because I am wondering the same thing!!!

How to login to Google services (gmail, blogger, youtube, etc) with IE 8?
Q. I cannot login to any Google services (gmail, blogger, youtube, etc) but can view blogs and every other website I have tried. I am using Internet Explorer 8. Keep getting "Internet Explorer cannot display this webpage" message.

Really need to login to Blogger more than anything, but am lost on what is even wrong.

A. Wouldn't it be easier to use Chrome as your browser, at least for when you want to log in to Google sites? Then you only need to log in once and you're automatically logged in to all Google services. You can still use IE8 the rest of the time. You can download Chrome free, it's easy.

How can i find out which addons are slowing down Firefox startup?

Q. Firefox had been running slow lately, very slow. It took about 15 seconds just to start. I got so sick of it that i tried it in safe-mode and it worked perfectly! Now that i know it was one my addons, what do i do? I have a lot... Is there some program or way i can determine which one is slowing me down?

Adblock Plus
Google photos screensaver
Google toolbar for firefox
Google web accelerator
Stumbleupon
Talkback

They're all updated and so is Firefox. Someone please tell me something besides dumping them all :(

A. That happened to my firefox too.

Got the latest 2.0.0.3 and the only add on, on your list, that I have is Adblock Plus.

So you give up speed to be safe. You can delete Adblock Plus and it will go faster. Your choice.

Think I would rather be safe than fast.

Where can I find great animated screensavers?
Q. When I google "animated screensavers" I get one of two things. One is a bunch of garbage, some of the worst 3D stuff I've ever seen all layered with spam and malware. Two is a nice list of sites that want you to pay for the screensavers. Help?

A. These things equal malware.
Even the paid ones come with "managers" and all kind of crap.

How can i get a screensaver for my homepage on the computer ?

A. I'm not sure why this is in the Pets section, but. . .

http://www.tigerspaw.org/images/tiger-pose.jpg
Click this link. It is a pic of a tiger. When it opens, right click it and select "Save Picture As". You'll have to type in a name for the picture. Then save it to a location you will be able to find it. . . My Docs. . .Desktop. . .My Pics.
Then locate the the file that you just saved. Right click it and select "Set As Desktop Background".

Viola. You have a tiger on your desktop! Now you can search the web for pics of tigers that you like (I suggest Google Images) and save whichever you want!

Is it possible to get all eBooks for free?
Q. Okay so I want to get a kindle or a nook, but I don't want to pay for every single book I read. How can you get free books and put them on the Nook/Kindle?

A. It is possible to choose to only read free ebooks. It is not possible to acquire for-purchase ebooks for free legally.

Most for-purchase books are protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) systems that are particular to the ereader. There are lots of places, however, which offer free, legal ebooks that will work on most ereaders. Sometimes it's a single format that most support (EPUB, TXT, PDF, etc); sometimes multiple ebook formats are listed per book.

The 14 sites listed here (Patricia Clark Memorial Library, ManyBooks, Project Gutenberg, Smashwords, Feedbooks, Baen, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Creative Commons Books, Google ebookstore, Internet Archive, Open Library, Sony Reader Store, and Kobo eBooks) have legal, free ebook downloads:

http://www.howtodecide.com/ebook-download/#~tf.free=y&free.yes=y

Also, if you master a good conversion tool such as Calibre,

http://calibre-ebook.com/

you'll gain access to more formats than just your ereader's native ebook file formats. Calibre will not, however, overcome DRM of protected for-purchase books.

I suggest that you'll want to consider other factors besides the availability of free ebooks when making your decision on which ereader to buy. Free ebooks does not differentiate ebooks as other factors such as E Ink vs LCD, keyboard vs touch screen, WiFi vs 3G, etc.
