Will i have to worry about virus protection with a blu-ray google tv player?

Q. Is blu-ray google tv better than playstation 3 for cable replacement? will i need to worry all the things for the blu-ray google tv like i do for a computer?

A. Note that you'll probably still need cable to feed your broadcast channels to the blu-ray player (it doesn't have a tuner, so it needs to get the TV signals from somewhere). As far as viruses, Android phones have an anti-virus type app, so I'm sure a version will become available for Google TV as well (which is based on Android) when the Market becomes available in 2011. Is it needed? So far, no, and I hope that continues

How can I speed up the streaming on my google tv?
Q. It is quite slow. I have a dsl connection of about 1mb/sec which isn't great. I have the google tv device streaming wirelessly. Will streaming speed increase if I connect the device directly to the modem via an ethernet? In this case, would it matter if the device is about 10-15 feet from the modem?

A. It might make some difference, but if you have a good signal, the wireless connection should be capable of much more than 1Mbps, the only way that is likely to work is if you can get a faster internet connection since 1Mbps is not very fast for streaming (even with a perfect connection) as you said.
